Upstream Report

Claire Landis, Donegal Trout Unlimited President

During the initial half of my presidency, I dedicated myself to advancing the initiatives of my predecessor, Garry Longenecker, with a primary focus on strengthening the internal structure of our organization. Here are some of the significant changes and advancements we have implemented:

The Farm and Home Center

  1. For official purposes, we have established a physical address at:

1383 Arcadia Rd Lancaster 17601 (Farm and Home Center). However, for general mail, please continue to use our PO Box address.

  2. Our Board meetings, held on the second Wednesday of each month, now take place at the Farm and Home Center. To ensure easy access to meeting equipment and supplies, we have rented a storage locker in the basement.

  3. To streamline our financial management, we have engaged a professional Bookkeeping company to handle our accounts.

  4. For seamless document sharing and collaboration, we've introduced the DTU Google Drive, which acts as a centralized repository for documents, forms, pictures, and other essential resources.

  5. A significant milestone for our organization is the relocation of the nursery to the Penn State South East Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Rapho Township.

  6. Our website has been transitioned to a new platform, enabling our IT team to effortlessly update and enhance the site.

  7. For the 2024 season, Millport Conservancy will manage the finances for the Millport Fishing Badges. Consequently, the DTU name will no longer be displayed on the badges.

  8. To promote transparency and accountability, all Board members have documented their respective goals for the fiscal year.

DTU remains steadfast in its commitment to progress and extends a warm invitation to enthusiastic members to contribute their time and skills to our cause. We embrace individuals with diverse interests, ranging from outdoor activities to computer-related work. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit our website to explore the available opportunities. Together, we can continue making a positive impact and advancing our mission.
