Friends of Fishing Creek WatershedAssociation honors Greg Wilson

On June 10th, Greg Wilson was honored at Drumore Township Park for his contributions to the Fishing Creek Watershed. In 2010, Greg, with the help of DTU and the Friends of Fishing Creek Watershed Association, started to improve the area.

Greg began by sharing his vision to not only help stop erosion in the Fishing Creek Watershed but to begin to remove invasive plants and the need to plant streamside buffers with only Pennsylvania native trees. Greg was instrumental in sharing information on the need to establish other conservation measures such as establish Pollinator and RainGardens. He not only worked with individual landowners but also engaged Drumore Twp. supervisors to allow both DTU and Friends of Fishing Creek to plant streamside buffers within the Township Park.

To show appreciation to Greg Wilson, The Friend of Fishing Creek honored Greg by placing informative signs in the gardens and dedicating the Rain Garden in his name. Greg’s wife, Vicki, and family were invited to the ceremony where Jan Hartle, President of Fishing Creek Watershed Association, made welcoming comments and invited Vicki to cut the ribbon on the Rain Garden sign.
